"At Rhiwderin Village Meithrin we aim to provide a happy, safe and caring environment in which all children can develop."
Welcome to Rhiwderin Village Meithrin
"Rhiwderin Village Meithrin was first registered in September 1988 under the name of Cylch Meithrin Rhiwderin.
Since February 2010, we have been known as Rhiwderin Village Meithrin.
Providing pre-school education for 2-5 year olds, we have been established in the community for over 25 years.
The care we offer is delivered by dedicated, very experienced, well-qualified staff, in a happy, friendly and relaxed environment
where children feel stimulated, encouraged and secure.
Following the Early Years Foundation Phase curriculum, we encourage learning through play.
A wide range of outdoor and indoor activities is provided to enrich children’s experiences, whilst ensuring the needs of every child are met.
Sessions are held in Rhiwderin Community Centre which was originally the village school.
The building is owned by the City Council and the group is run by committee which we welcome all parents to be part of.
We are open on five mornings and five afternoons and also run a Breakfast Club, which a number of our parents make use of.
Nearly all the children attending the group are drawn from the local area and remain with us for two years, although we also have some children
who travel for some distance to attend. A few of our children come from backgrounds where more than one language is spoken, however
English is the home language of most of the children.
We have a secure outside area which has been in use since summer 2000. We are still actively extending the learning opportunities offered through our outdoor space, with the latest addition being the provision of planting boxes, a willow den and a purpose built sandpit
The four permanent members of staff have worked together in Meithrin for over 20 years.
We feel this contributes to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the group and allows us to provide a unique continuity of care.
Rhiwderin Village Meithrin is a registered charity.
We believe the fact that we are a non profit making organisation allows us to concentrate resources on the children in our care.
